Concerns raised that US bill could impede international justice

A US House Bill, which has been reestablished earlier in January has sparked concerns that it could obstruct international justice, specifically International Criminal court (ICC) investigations of Israel.
Collectively known as the “Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act,” the House bill (HR 8282) as well as the Senate bill (S. 224), would provide protection to people accused of war crimes by the International Criminal Court, The New Arab reported on January 8th.
The ICC issued warrants for Israeli officials for war crimes during November, which they are currently appealing.
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) has issued several statements on its website about the bill and has said that the ICC’s actions set a concerning precedent.
