Ceasefire deal in Gaza “coming together” says Blinken

Israel has attacked Gaza overnight and on the morning of January 6th, leading to at least 14 deaths and dozens of people being injured, according to Palestinian media and medics. But the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, has now said that a truce deal will be taking form.

The attacks took place against the Barakat family, north of Gaza city in the Sheikh Radwan, leading to four deaths,as reported by The New Arab and agencies on January 6th.

The Victims include, Thabat Salim, a doctor who worked as a volunteer at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.

Blinken said that a ceasefire deal in Gaza “would come together” in a matter of weeks, but that this would possibly happen once President Joe Biden leaves office on January 20th, for incoming President Donald Trump.
