Israel violates fragile ceasefire six times in single day

Israel allegedly violated its ceasefire agreement with Lebanon six times on December 19th, as the fragile peace deal continues to exist in name only.
According to Anadolu, homes on the border were bombed as drones flew overhead, while Israeli bulldozers demolished houses in the town of Naqoura on the coast.
Since the ceasefire went into effect on November 27th, Israel’s violations have risen to 259, with 31 people killed and 37 injured during the attacks.
Earlier this month, MiddleEastEye reported that Hezbollah had fired “warning” rockets into Israeli held Lebanese territory in a response to Tel Aviv’s repeated violations of the peace deal.

As with other attacks Israel has launched since November 27th, Benjamin Netanyahu’s government maintain that the military actions have been in self defence, referencing ceasefire agreements’ granting of the right to self defence.
A major sticking point during negotiations, the clause on “self-defence” attempts to strike a delicate balance which verges on the impossible.
During negotiations, the since assassinated Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem said negotiations were aimed at stopping “the aggression completely” and preserving “Lebanese sovereignty so that the Israeli enemy does not get the right to invade and violate as he pleases”, according to TheNational.
A month later, many would claim this has not changed, as frictions on the Lebanese bolder continue to smoulder.
