Israel strikes Lebanon-Syria border just hours before ceasefire
Israeli struck three points along the northern part of the Lebanon-Syria border on November 26th, just moments after US President Joe Biden announced a ceasefire deal which would come into effect the following day, according to TheArabWeekly and Agencies.
Lebanon’s transport minister Ali Hamieh said it was not clear whether roads had been cut by the strikes, as had happened in recent weeks with Israeli strikes on the eastern crossings into Syria.
According to Syrian State TV, ten people were injured, including three critically, at the Arida border crossing while casualties were also reported at the Dabousieh checkpoint.
Since Israel launched its offensive in south Lebanon late September, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor has recorded at least 86 Israeli attacks in Syria, with 199 Iran-backed fighters and 39 civilians reported dead.
