Hezbollah says it doesn’t pin truce hopes on any US administration
A Hezbollah lawmaker said on November 7th that the group welcomes efforts to stop the war in Lebanon but doesn’t pin its hopes on any US administration, according to the Arab News via Reuters.
“It might be a change in the party who is in power, but when it comes to Israel, they have more or less the same policy,” Ibrahim Moussawi told Reuters when asked about the election of Donald Trump. “We want to see actions, we want to see decisions taken,” he added.
He acknowledged the toll of Israeli attacks but said Hezbollah remained strong. “Our hearts are broken — we are losing very dear lives. This feeling that cannot be punished or brought to international justice is a result of US support which renders them immune to accountability,” he stated. “America is a full partner in what’s happening because they can exercise influence to stop this destruction.”
