WHO says over 100 patients to be evacuated from Gaza

Over 100 patients including children suffering from trauma injuries and chronic diseases will be evacuated from Gaza on November 6th in a rare transfer out of the territory, a World Health Organization official stated according to the Arab News via Reuters.

“These are ad hoc measures. What we have requested repeatedly is a sustained medevac (medical evacuation) outside of Gaza,” said WHO representative for the Occupied Palestinian Territory Rik Peeperkorn, adding that there were 12,000 people awaiting transfer.

He said that on November 6th the patients will travel in a large convoy via the Kerem Shalom crossing with Israel and will then fly to the UAE, with some going on to travel to Romania.
