Israel passes law banning UNRWA
Lawmakers in Israel passed a bill on October 28th banning UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, from operating on Israeli soil, according to the Arab News via AP.
The legislation, which bans UNRWA from conducting “any activity” or providing any service within Israel, risks worsening the already fraught aid distribution process in Gaza.
The vote passed by 92-10, and a second bill severing diplomatic ties with UNRWA will also be voted on later on October 28th.
