Israel forces have stormed the last operational hospital in north Gaza after bombing it and killing children inside, according to MiddleEastEye.

In the early hours of the 25th October Kamal Adwan hospital in Beit Lahia was attacked following the departure of World Health Organisation workers.

The assault began with air strikes, one hitting the facility’s oxygen supply and causing the deaths of children said Dr. Munir al-Bursh, director general of the Palestinian health ministry.

Israeli troops then raided the building, assaulting everyone inside according to hospital authorities.

After evacuating the patients, including people in intensive care, Israeli forces detained all the men and are subjecting them to interrogation reported Al Jazeera.

In total there were 150 patients alongside 250 medical staff said the director of Kamal Adwan, Dr Hussam Abu Safiya.

In a video published on his social media page following the bombing, Safiya said: “Instead of receiving aid, we receive tanks…which are shelling the building.”

“Where is the law? Which law in the world allows for a hospital to be directly targeted?”

“What is happening in the hospital is a crime and genocide against the Palestinian people.”

Contact with him has been lost since.

Kamal Adwan hospital is one of three hospitals in the northern Gaza that have been under a strangling Israeli siege for three weeks.

While the hospital received little aid during this time, it remained operational at minimal capacity, offering life-saving services to newborn infants and other patients in ICUs.

The two other health facilities, the Indonesian hospital and al-Awda hospital, have buckled under the siege and have completely ceased all care in recent days.

The Israeli operation is part of a new offensive on north Gaza described by rights groups and experts as a plan to ethnically cleanse the area of Palestinians.

Presented to the Israeli government on 5 October, the “General’s Plan” would see areas north of the Netzarim Corridor, which cuts Gaza in two, emptied of its residents in order to establish a “closed military zone”.

In a video posted last month, Giora Eiland, a retired Israeli military general and prominent supporter of the plan said: “Those who leave will receive food and water.”

Anyone who chooses to stay would be considered a Hamas operative and could be killed, the plan stipulates.

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Unrwa, estimates that about 400,000 people remain in Gaza’s north, including Gaza City.
