Hezbollah targets Israeli intel and navy bases

Hezbollah has said it has targeted Israeli positions including an intelligence base, according to the Arab News via AFP.
The attacks, which came on October 22nd, followed a night of heavy Israeli bombardment in south Beirut. Authorities say four people including a child were killed in Israeli strikes in the capital near Lebanon’s largest public hospital.
Hezbollah said it launched a “salvo of rockets” targeting the “Glilot base of the 8200 military intelligence unit,” after claiming attacks on the base the night before.

Israel’s military said “in central Israel, approximately five projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon. The majority… were intercepted.” It added that “in the Upper Galilee area and northern Golan Heights, approximately 15 projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon” with some being intercepted and the rest falling in open areas. Israel has said it is not aware of any casualties.
It also claimed on October 22nd that it had hit a number of Hezbollah weapons storage facilities and command centres overnight
Israel also said on Tuesday that it had struck several Hezbollah weapons storage facilities and command centres overnight, including a key naval base in Beirut. It said it struck about 300 targets in the previous day, including strikes a financial firm linked to Hezbollah.
AFP was told by a Lebanese official that the country’s national airline switched landing strips late October 21st after Israeli strikes near Beirut’s only international airport hit close to the main runway.
