Hezbollah claims drone attack on Netanyahu’s home

Hezbollah has claimed responsibility on October 22nd for a drone attack on Israeli PM Netanyahu’s home, according to the Arab News. The group also acknowledged that the Israeli army has taken some of its fighters captive.
Mohammed Afif, spokesperson for the group, made the claims during a press conference in Beirut that was left unfinished due to an Israeli evacuation warning. The strike hit a target hundreds of meters away from the conference site, according to an AFP journalist.

Hezbollah “declares its full, complete and exclusive responsibility for the Caesarea operation targeting… Netanyahu,” Afif stated. Netanyahu had accused Hezbollah of the assassination attempt on him already on October 19th.
Afif added “on the issue of captives currently held by the enemy, I say: I know that the enemy is not committed to the ethics of war and international conventions but it bears the responsibility of preserving the lives of the captives.”
Israel’s army had previously claimed it had captured four Hezbollah fighters since it began its invasion of Lebanon, and released footage which they said showed one of them answering questions.

Afif also stated that the group’s micro-financing firm Al-Qard Al-Hassan took all necessary precautions before the Israeli strikes a week ago, vowing to “fulfil its obligations” toward depositors. The firm “had anticipated such… an aggression and has taken all precautions and will do everything that is necessary to fulfil its obligations toward depositors,” he added.
