Spain preparing to evacuate Lebanon
Spain is preparing plans to evacuate its citizens in Lebanon as early as October 3rd, according to Asharq Al-Awsat and agencies on October 2nd.
The country is aiming to evacuate Lebanon by sending two military aircraft, as stated by Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles.
“The Spanish airplanes are ready, the staff are ready, as always with the professionalism of the Spanish army”.
Reportedly, a group of 350 Spanish citizens are currently stuck in Lebanon and have asked to be taken to Spain. Moreover, Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares claimed that around 1,000 Spaniards were recently in Lebanon.
Since 2022, Spain has led the UNIFIL, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, and distributed 650 troops on the Lebanese-Israeli border.

On October 1st, Turkey affirmed it was ready to evacuate Turks from the war zone, cooperating with around 20 other countries.
“The guidelines for the evacuation of foreign nationals via our country have also been set, the necessary preparations are being carried out with around 20 countries that have requested support so far”.
