New Israeli strikes in Gaza kill 10 Palestinians

New Israeli strikes in the central Gaza Strip killed at least 10 people, according to Asharq Al-Awsat plus agencies on September 23rd.

Claiming to have targeted a Hamas command centre, Israeli forces killed at least five Palestinians in a school sheltering displaced civilians in Nuseirat.

A second airstrike then hit a house in Deir al-Balah killing a woman and four children.

Moreover, the already dire conditions of the Palestinian population worsened overnight due to heavy rains that destroyed numerous shelters.

“Everything is drowned, the blankets, the food, and the people in just a few hours of rain,” commented 30-year-old Ahmed Al-Burai.

“Most of the displaced can’t afford the new prices of tents and plastic sheeting. Just two days ago the price of plastic sheeting stood at 100 to 200 shekels ($27 to $54) and today it has risen to 700 and 800 shekels ($189 to $216) because of the greed of merchants,” he added.

Almost a year into the conflict, the number of displaced in Gaza totals 2.3 million people.

Currently, the IDF is simultaneously carrying out more than one conflict in the Middle East.

As a matter of fact, the tensions on the Lebanese-Israeli border are escalating, following the pager blast attack against Hezbollah.

The militant group quickly responded to the offensive launching rockets to target Israel’s artillery positions.

On September 20th, Israel ultimately killed a top Hezbollah commander during an airstrike in Beirut.
