Al-Jalali, who served as communications minister from 2014 to 2016, has been under EU sanctions due to his role in the regime’s repression of civilians.
In addition to his ministerial role, he was the president of the Syrian Private University (SBU) and holds a PhD in engineering economics from Ain Shams University in Cairo.
