Hamas official advocating for “joint Palestinian rule”
Hamas official Osama Hamdan preached “joint Palestinian rule” in Gaza upon the end of the conflict, according to Arab News on September 15th.
“Clearly, we said that the next day must be Palestinian … the day after the battle is a Palestinian day,” he declared, “The resistance has a high ability to continue”.
“There were martyrs and sacrifices … but in return, there was an accumulation of experiences and the recruitment of new generations into the resistance.”

On July 31st Hamas’ political chief, Ismail Haniyeh was killed in a raid in Tehran leading to the election of Yahya Sinwar as a new moderate leader.
On September 3rd the US officially declared criminal charges against Hamas over the October 7th attack against Israel which killed 1,200 people listing six defendants, among whom the new leader.
However, Hamdan claims the US is not putting the same pression on negotiations with the Israeli counterpart, as it is rather “trying to justify the Israeli side’s evasion of any commitment”.

At the beginning of August 21st, Israeli NGOs published a report detailing Israeli abuses in the Strip examining “annexation, setter violence, dispossession and famine caused by Israel”.
“Death, hunger and destruction committed by the Israeli military in Gaza raise heavy suspicions of war crimes and crimes against humanity,” “Physical and psychological torture is used regularly and with complete impunity in Israel Security Agency interrogations despite Israel’s claims to the contrary and despite the clear ban on torture in international law.”
