Rights group calls for war crimes probe over Gaza buffer zone
A top human rights organisation in London is calling for a war crimes investigation into how Israel has destroyed homes and farms in Eastern Gaza, building what it calls a buffer zones between the Palestinian enclave and Jews living in the rest of Israel, according to AFP.
“Using bulldozers and manually laid explosives, the Israeli military has unlawfully destroyed agricultural land and civilian buildings, razing entire neighborhoods, including homes, schools and mosques,” Amnesty International said in a statement on the 5th September.
The London-based rights group said the levelling since the start of the war on October 7 “should be investigated as war crimes of wanton destruction and of collective punishment.”
