Abbas demands financial support from Arab countries
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has demanded financial support from international and Arab countries at the Arab League summit held in Bahrain, according to Asharq Al-Awsat and agencies on May 16th.
The Palestinian Authority’s funding has been massively reduced over Israel withholding its tax revenue. International funding for the PA has also fallen from $1.8 billion to $60 million.

Abbas said funding was critical to “activate the Arab safety net, to boost the resilience of our people and to enable the government to carry out its duties,”.
