Biden administration to grant Israel a billion in military aid
Skepticism is growing now as to the sincerity of Joe Biden’s measures to curtail Israel’s slaughter of civilians in Rafah, following his cancellation of a number of arms transfers in recent days.
The Biden administration has confirmed it will grant Israel a billion in military aid according to Arab News and agencies on May 15th.
Around $700 million is toward tank ammunition , with another $500 million for tactical vehicles, revealed congressional aides, who remained anonymous, on May 14th.
It follows the US putting a weapons transfer to Israel on hold earlier this month.
The US administration expressed concern over Israel’s use of weapons against densely concentrated civilian areas and high civilian toll.

Over 35,000 civilians have been killed in Gaza, primarily women and children, according to the Gaza’s health ministry.
Republicans condemned the decision to pause weapons transfers to Israel, condemning the Biden administration’s supposed abandonment of their closest ally in the Middle East.
While the Biden administration would likely veto the bill, Democrats also are not United regarding their stance towards supplying Israel with advanced weaponry.

Approximately two dozen Democrats wrote expressing that they were “deeply concerned about the message” being made in denying Israel weapons.
However, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said “We strongly, strongly oppose attempts to constrain the President’s ability to deploy US security assistance consistent with US foreign policy and national security objectives”.
