Palestinian mass grave uncovered in Khan Younis

Palestinian civil defence team in Khan Younis uncovered a mass grave containing 190 bodies on April 21, according to Arab News and agencies.

The bodies, which appear to have been tortured in some cases, belong to the victims of an Israeli attack on the Nasser Medical Complex, according to the civil defence.

“There were no clothes on some bodies, which certainly indicates (the victims) faced torture and abuse,” stated Mahmud Bassal, spokesman for the team.

The discovery followed the withdrawal of Israeli forces in southern Gaza on April 7th “in order to recuperate and prepare for future operations,” as stated by IDF representative.

Nonetheless, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasised once more that “there will be no ceasefire without the return of hostages”, making the prospect of peace appear unlikely.

On March 29th, Hamas outlined four requirements for peace and the release of Israeli hostages on their Telegram account, being “a complete halt to the (Israeli) aggression, a full withdrawal of the occupation from all of the Gaza Strip, the freedom of return for the displaced (to the north), and the entry of aid to meet the needs of our people in the Strip”.

As of today, Israel has killed more than 34,000 Palestinians and caused the displacement of 90% of the population.
