Hezbollah is “fully prepared” to wage war against Israel
Hezbollah declared on April 5th that the group is “fully prepared” to wage a war against Israel, according to The New Arab and agencies.
The declaration of war was prompted by Israel’s bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1st, which led to the death of at least 13 military personnel.
The recent attack has emphasized the heightened tensions between Israel and Iranian proxies as Israel is currently engaged in constant battles with Hezbollah at the border with Lebanon.
Since the beginning of the year, Israel has conducted a series of assassinations targeting Hezbollah officers, recently killing missile commander Ali Naeem.
Moreover, on March 27th, an Israeli airstrike on the Islamic group’s emergency and relief centre killed 7 people in southern Lebanon.

The attack, claimed group leader Hassan Nasrallah, represents a “turning point” and “everyone must prepare themselves and arrange their affairs and be careful when the Iranian side responds to the targeting of the Iranian consulate”.
Nevertheless, Nasrallah did not provide any information regarding when the attack might take place.
Diplomats have been attempting to mediate between Israel and Hezbollah, with the latter refusing to negotiate until a ceasefire with Gaza is achieved. Israel on the other hand, has demanded that Hezbollah withdraw from the shared border.
