UNRWA “has enough funding” until end of May
UNRWA chief Phillippe Lazzarini said on March 26 that the main agency assisting Palestinian refugees has sufficient funds for the next few months, AFP reported
The UN agency felt the pressure at the end of January after it was alleged that 12 of their 13,000 Gaza-based employees were involved in Hamas’ assault on October 7. The accusations led to a mass exodus of funding from around a dozen countries including the US and UK.Â
Lazzarini told Swiss reporters in Geneva, “We are still working from one month to the next, we have funding until the end of May,“Â
