Israel blamed for death of 6 year old in Gaza

The recent tragic death of a six-year old Palestinian girl in Gaza proved Vladimir Putin and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres’ comments on the enclave to be accurate as well as highlighting the abhorrent actions of a belligerent Israeli state.

Putin and the UN chief had previously stated that Gaza was like a “graveyard for children” as ties between the Kremlin and Israel are dwindling over the massacre taking place in the territory home to 2.2 million people who have mostly been displaced because of bombardments. Current data shows the death toll to be at 28,700.

Hind Rajab,6, was found dead on February 10 as her family’s vehicle caught fire which led to the disappearance of the youngster for roughly two weeks, AFP reported.

The Rajab family as well as the Gazan Health Ministry blamed Israel for Hind’s death.

It was reported that everyone in the car was trapped whilst attempting to flee Gaza City on January 29 due to hostile Israeli advancements.

The six-year old’s grandfather, Baba Hamada, commented, “Hind and everyone else in the car is martyred”.

Her mother, Wissam Rajab, tearfully said, “I will not forgive those who let Hind down when they could have helped her, because she was alive until the last moment.”

She also called for those responsible for her death to be fully held accountable.

In a statement, Gaza’s health ministry confirmed that, “She was killed by (Israeli) occupation forces with all those who were with her in the car outside the petrol station in Tel Al-Hawa (Gaza City’s southern part).”

The death of the child gained widespread press and social media attention as many voiced their anger and wrote heartfelt messages online.

Author, left wing activist and The Guardian columnist Owen Jones discussed the devastating death as well as pointing out the Western media’s, notably British outlets, inconsistencies when reporting on the Israel-Palestine issue.

On X, formerly Twitter, he wrote on February 12, “What if Hind Rajab had been a 6-year-old Israeli girl killed along with her family, along with her rescuers by Hamas militants.

“The airwaves would be filled with condemnations of the evil barbarism of Hamas.

“But they were Palestinians, killed by the IDF.”

One X user payed an emotional tribute which read, “RIP Hind Rajab I’m so sorry life was so cruel to you, you deserved so much more and to be treated so much better. Fly high angel.”

The IDF are yet to comment on the incident.
