Iraq’s Kataib Hezbollah stops operations against US forces

After several attacks against the US’ bases in Iraq in support of the Palestinian Resistance in Gaza, Iraqi armed group Kataib Hezbollah announced the suspension of all its military attacks against US troops in the country on January 30, reported Reuters.

The reason is preventing “embarrassment” of the Iraqi government, the group said.

“As we announce the suspension of military and security operations against the occupation forces – in order to prevent embarrassment of the Iraqi government – we will continue to defend our people in Gaza in other ways,” Kataib Hezbollah Secretary-General Abu Hussein al-Hamidawi affirmed in a statement.
