German FM says Israel has to ease Gaza attacks

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock asked Israel to ease its attacks on Gaza and protect civilians in the besieged Palestinian enclave, on January 7, according to Asharq Al-Awsat and agencies.

According to Baerbock  Israel’s security also depended on limiting civilian deaths.

“It is increasingly clear that the Israeli army must do more to protect civilians in Gaza. It must find ways to fight Hamas without harming large numbers of Palestinians,” she affirmed.

However, she reaffirmed Germany’s strong support for Israel.  She also said that Israel doesn’t have to expel Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
