Hillary Clinton makes a case for opposition to Gaza ceasefire

Scandal-ridden Hillary Clinton was back in the spotlight after claiming that a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas wouldn’t be possible, reports American conservative news outlet Fox News, October 30.
The former US Secretary of State made the remarks whilst on a panel at the Texas-based Rice University’s Baker Institute Gala.
In a heated run up to the 2016 Presidential Election, Clinton famously lost to populist Donald Trump in what was a shock defeat for the Democrat.
During the panel discussion on October 28, Mrs Clinton said, “People who are calling for a ceasefire now do not understand Hamas. That is not possible”.
The 76 year old made the comments on the same day that the United Nations General Assembly voted 122 to 14 in favor of humanitarian truce in Gaza. The US, a close Israeli ally, was one of the countries that voted against the resolution.

Clinton added, “It would be such a gift to Hamas because they would spend the ceasefire time rebuilding their armaments, creating stronger positions to be able to fend off an eventual assault by the Israelis.”
Tensions between Israel and Gaza reached boiling point when the Palestinian militant group killed 1,400 Israelis in an assault on the country’s south on October 7.
Since then, Israel has pummeled Gaza, a densely populated enclave that has been under siege for over a decade, which has resulted in the deaths of over 8,600 Palestinians as of October 31.
The Democrat also said that, “The terrorism inflicted by Hamas on the Israeli people has to be retaliated against, and they have to pay a price and be deprived of their leadership position in Gaza,”.
Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State for a certain period of time during the US invasion of Iraq as an 8-year war took place in what was a conflict which broke out based on falsehoods.
It is estimated that 1 million people died during the Iraq War.
