Abbas calls on Israel to recognise Palestine

During a meeting with Emmanuel Macron on October 24, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas claimed that his country recognises Israel and its right to exist for 40 years, reports Reuters. 

Abbas also urged Israel to return the favour and fully recognise a Palestinian state. 

Mr Abbas welcomed the French President in Ramallah, the defacto Palestinian capital, following his visit to Israel.
