US sends F-16s to Middle East
The United States announced on October 24 that they would send F-16 fighter jets to the Middle East amidst the rise of clashes in the region, reports the US Department of Defense.
The Pentagon said that a squadron of the aircrafts had arrived in the conflict-laden area in what will be a boost in the US forces’ chances to defend themselves.
Pentagon Press Secretary, Pat Ryder said. “What we are seeing is the prospect for more significant escalation against US forces and personnel across the region, in the very near term, coming from Iranian proxy forces and ultimately from Iran.”
