Canada’s Foreign Minister urges citizens to leave Lebanon

On October 16, Canada’s Foreign Minister called on citizens to leave Lebanon amidst the lack of security in the region, reports Reuters.

Conflict escalated on October 7 after Hamas attacked Israel’s southern part from Gaza, which has long been targeted by Israeli forces.

On X (formerly Twitter) Canadian Foreign Minister, Melanie Joly wrote, ““As the crisis in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel continues to unfold, the security situation in the region is becoming increasingly volatile,”.

Joly noted that Canadians staying in the Middle Eastern country should take the opportunity to book flights away from Lebanon whilst they remain available.
