Jordanian King utters pro-Palestinian sentiment

The Jordanian King said on October 11 that there cannot be peace in the Middle East without a Palestinian state, reports The New Arab and agencies.

King Abdullah II addressed the country’s parliament noting that, “Our region will never be secure nor stable without achieving just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution,”.

A day prior to the monarch’s pro-Palestinian speech, protesters waving Palestinian flags amongst supportive placards descended on to the streets of Amman, Jordan’s capital, in support of the country’s cause.

The king added, “A Palestinian independent and sovereign state should be on June 4th, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and so that the cycles of killing, whose ultimate victims are innocent civilians, end.”
